Flame FM Bradford began as a Year 2000 initiative to have a Christian radio station in every city in Britain. David and Elaine Lee had long dreamed of Christian radio outreach, and this provided the ideal opportunity. They gathered a small army of volunteers from churches and other groups in the city and surrounds – all sorts, all ages. We first broadcast in May 2000 from a tiny studio on the top floor of Woolston House in Tetley Street, in Bradford city centre. It worked so well we built a larger studio at Jubilee Mills in North Street, but we soon outgrew that and now have a permanent home in Wharf Street, Shipley, which we moved in to in March 2003.

Our mission is to provide a 24/7 Community internet radio service,we provide training to all members of the Community,we have training courses in broadcasting,editing, production,scripting, We offer recording and demo cd production to new artists,and encourage DJ’s bands etc to send us there demo’s for transmission, We are a “social enterprise”and encourage all in the community to take part.
